Autobiography

I was born on July 7, 1991 in San Juan Puerto Rico. I was raised in Caguas by my parents Adalberto Quintana Vazquez and Gloria E. Torres Baez who are happily married 30 years now. I’m the youngest of three sisters. My older sister is named Liliana E. Quintana Torres and my other older sister is named Micelys E. Quintana Torres. I studied in the Colegio Catolico Notre Dame in Caguas since pre-kinder up until 12th grade.  When I was in the 7th grade my parents decided to move to the city of Juncos in which I still reside with my partner. When I graduated High school I started studying in the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez campus but then I decided to change to The University of Puerto Rico at Humacao Campus and later enrolled in Education. At first I was studying biology and I didn’t like it. Thanks to my dislike in Biology I came to realize my calling towards English Education. And I don’t regret it, because I started studying the wrong thing I found out my true calling.  I don’t regret changing majors at all.

Children have always been a big part of my life. Not only because I chose to be a teacher but because I’m a mother and an auntie. When I was fourteen years old my sister, Micelys, gave birth to my princess (niece named Jehielys). Later not much later after my niece’s birth my sister Micelys also gave birth to a baby boy named Johanan. Consequently that other year my bigger sister Liliana gave birth to my mini-me nephew named Lawrence. I love my nephews and my family. We are very close. Family is everything for me. This past July 19 I gave birth to the light of my life, My son, Michael Dianel. Being a mother has made me appreciate much more my profession. I love children I’m good with them, for me it comes natural being around them. With my son I feel like I’m so good being a mother than being a teacher will be the same.

After I graduated I plan on continuing with my studies eventually. I want to keep preparing myself and become better in my profession. I still haven’t decided in what I’m going to do my graduate studies because various paths interest me. But, in my future plans definitely my master and doctorate are next.
