Introduction

 Welcome to my blog! The purpose of this Electronic Teaching Portfolio is to echo my work experience as a practice student. This portfolio will go hand in hand with my field experience as a practice teacher and it will gather the work of a whole semester regarding my practice teaching. I will be actively updating my blog so you can monitor my practice teaching experience.  Also, the objectives of this portfolio are not only to be a part of my practice and everything involving my practice teaching, I also want this blog to help other future teacher candidates because it can be used as a guide and a resource for future assignments. Likewise this portfolio can help people in general. Another objective is for me to put in the blog what I have been doing or practicing and for the viewer to see it. This blog is my practice teaching experience the online version.  I want my practice teaching blog to inspire others by my story of how I decided to become a teacher. I also want people to know that there are other people out there studying to become teachers and that I’m very proud of it.  This Electronic portfolio will demonstrate my effort in my practice teaching and why I choose to be a teacher, likewise the determination I put into my profession.

A few months ago I asked a professor of my university why he chose teaching as a profession and he simply reply that he didn’t see himself doing anything else. When he said I understood him perfectly because I feel the same way. I simply don’t see myself working in another profession. But, it was not always like that, I started studying another thing. I guess I had my doubts in the beginning. When I was a freshman I started studying biology and I simply couldn’t continue I didn’t like the classes and what I feared the most was that I didn’t see myself having a future in the biology field.  It was like I was stuck taking classes I didn’t like and stuck without a future. I realize I couldn’t continue studying Biology and that’s when I started thinking what could I study that I would enjoy. I needed to study something that I will be good at and that I could see a future in it. That’s when teaching came to mind. I already worked as a tutor so I knew I was good at it and that I liked it.

Teaching has always been a part of who I am, I don’t know why I didn’t consider it before.  My mom was a Spanish teacher so I think I first consider being a teacher when I was a little girl and I went to her school and pretended I was a teacher too. Schools and teachers has been always a big part of my life. Not only because I went to school and had teachers but because it’s in my blood, besides my mom I have two aunts, a cousin and plenty of others familiars who are educators, I was looking for something that was right in front of me.
